The Children's Burn Camp

Children's Burn Camp The Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation sends former patients with significant burn injuries to The Children’s Burn Camp at no cost to the child’s family. The Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation is able to send burn survivors to camp through the generous support of the Sandy Hook Friends of Saint Barnabas, Futures & Options for Kids, New Jersey’s Firefighters, and generous individual supporters.

The Children’s Burn Camp provides an environment that promotes self confidence, mutual respect, pride and accomplishment. It is a place where kids can simply be kids. Every July burn survivors from all over the world have the opportunity to attend this special camp.

The Children’s Burn Camp, located in Union, Connecticut, is set on 176 acres in the woods and is staffed by volunteer firefighters, medical professionals specializing in burn treatment and burn survivors. The Children’s Burn Camp provides children with the opportunity to swim and boat in a private pond and enjoy the pleasures of hiking, fire fighting games, overnight campouts, fishing, archery, arts and crafts, dancing and sports of all kinds.

For those survivors with significant burn injuries aged 8 to 18 looking to participate in the burn camp experience at The Children’s Burn Camp, please contact Lisa Jones at The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas at (973) 322-5682 or via e-mail at lmjones@sbhcs.com or visit The Children’s Burn Camp at: http://www.ctburnsfoundation.org/cbc.htm
