Joined Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1981
Dr. Mansour received his medical degree at St.
Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon in 1973 and
completed a general surgery residency at Union
Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Mansour
attained the rank of major in the United States
Army and served as staff surgeon at the U.S. Army
Institute of Surgical Research Burn Unit at Brooke
Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas from 1979-1981
and later as chief of the Burn Study Branch at
Brooke Army Medical Center.
Dr. Mansour is certified by the American Board
of Surgery in general surgery and surgical critical
care. He has additional certification as an instructor
in Advanced Burn Life Support from the American
Burn Association.
Dr. Mansour is a researcher and author of numerous
articles and continuing education videos for medical
professionals. Results of his experience and clinical
research were presented at the Annual Meeting of
the American Burn Association in 1997, 1998 and
1999.

The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center
Joined Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1983.
Dr. Petrone received her medical degree from Loyola
University-Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood,
Illinois in 1977 and completed an internship and
residency in general surgery at Boston University.
She served as clinical burn fellow and assistant
attending surgeon at Cornell University Medical
Center-New York Hospital, New York, New York in
1982 and 1983.
Dr. Petrone is certified by the American Board
of Surgery in general surgery and holds a Special
Certificate of added Qualifications in Surgical
Critical Care. She is a fellow of the American
College of Surgeons and a member of the American
Burn Association, the Society of Critical Care
Medicine and the International Society for Burn
Injury.

The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center
Joined Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1993.
Dr. Marano received his medical degree from the
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New
Jersey Medical School at Newark in 1981. He completed
his general surgery residency, clinical burn fellowship,
and research training at The New York Hospital-Cornell
Medical Center in 1989. Dr. Marano was Assistant
Professor of Surgery at Cornell Medical Center
before he joined Saint Barnabas as a burn surgeon
in 1993. Additionally, he is currently Program
Director of the general surgery training program
in the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Marano is board certified in General Surgery
and Surgical Critical Care.

The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center
Dr. Houng received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University. He completed a master’s degree in engineering from University of Pennsylvania. He received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School at Newark in 2001. He completed his general surgery residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 2006. He also completed a surgical critical care fellowship from Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, joining the Burn Team in June of 2007.
Dr. Houng is board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.

Burn and Critical Care Services at Saint Barnabas
Medical Center
Joined Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1983 and
served previously as Clinical Manager and Clinical
Coordinator of The Burn Center, as well as a staff
nurse in the Burn Intensive Care Unit.
Ms. Ruhren received her bachelor’s of science
degree in nursing from St. Peters College Jersey
City, Englewood, NJ and her nursing diploma from
the Christ Hospital Diploma Nursing School in Jersey
City, NJ.

Medical Center
Joined Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1987
Ms. Foster holds a bachelor’s of science
degree in business administration from Elmira College,
NY. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Federation
of Burn Foundations, an international coalition
of burn foundation; and a member of the American
Burn Association.
